Our Why

At The Yutzy School, we believe that every child has the potential to succeed when given the right foundation. Students are likely to achieve lasting success when they have:

-
A Friend (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10).
-
A Responsibility (Luke 16:10).
-
Nurturing with the Word of God (Joshua 1:8).
Friendship fosters connection and confidence, responsibility instills a sense of purpose and accountability, and biblical truth provides wisdom and strength.
By creating a learning environment rooted in faith, community, and personal growth, we equip students not only with academic knowledge but with the values and resilience needed to thrive in life.
Curriculum
We draw from a variety of curricula to provide a balanced, adaptable education that meets each student’s needs while fostering both academic excellence and spiritual growth. Using resources such as The Good and the Beautiful, Teaching Textbooks, McGuffey, and Mel Science, we create a well-rounded learning experience that cultivates critical thinking, creativity, and a love for knowledge—all within a faith-based framework.

We serve students from 6 to 18 years old, grades K-12.

Age/Grade Levels
Lower school (Grade level 1 through 4)

Our lower school serves children who are at least 6 years old by the first day of school, through grade level 4 (typically up to age 9). Students in our competency-based approach advance based on mastery rather than age. However, for reference the following chart shows the typical grade level that corresponds with each grade.

Middle school (Grade level 5 through 8)

Our middle school serves children who are typically 10 years old by the first day of school, through grade level 8 (typically up to age 13). Students in our competency-based approach advance based on mastery rather than age. However, for reference the following chart shows the typical grade level that corresponds with each grade.

Upper school (Grade level 9-12)

Upper school students are at least 14 years old and have reached grade level 9 in most subjects. As with the lower and middle school, students advance based on mastery. The following schedule serves only as a point of reference.

Parent Partnership
At The Yutzy School, parental involvement isn’t just encouraged—it’s essential. Our Parent Partnership Program is a foundational part of our educational model, allowing us to provide an exceptional, affordable education while fostering a strong school community.

Each family contributes one hour per school day assisting with instruction. This not only keeps parents actively engaged in their child’s development but also significantly reduces tuition costs—nearly 70% lower per child.

Participation is simple. We provide a daily guide sheet that requires no prior preparation, ensuring parents feel confident and equipped to support learning.

This shared commitment strengthens our community, enriches the student experience, and keeps quality education accessible to all.

Invest in your child. Invest your time. Partner with us in education.
Families unable to meet the participation requirement may opt to pay full tuition instead.
Recess & Nature
Because we value both play and nature, students will spend some time outdoors each day. During our extended recess periods, students are expected to be outside in all weather conditions, rain or shine. Parents are encouraged to provide appropriate clothing for outdoor play throughout the year. Students should also practice independently putting on and removing their outdoor gear. Outdoor clothing can be left at the school if needed.
We monitor the temperature daily before recess. If the temperature (including wind chill) drops below 32°F, students will be allowed to take warming breaks indoors but are still encouraged to stay outside as long as they are comfortable. If the temperature falls below 20°F (with wind chill), recess will be held indoors.
